8,000 Views Edition: Interview with Author Imani

Before I begin, I want to announce that EA: Creatively Creative recently reached over 8,000 blog views! Today, I sit down with an individual who's artistic in more ways than one, author and graphic designer, Imani.

EA: Has writing always been a passion of yours?

IM: Yes. From the moment I started writing at the age of 12.

EA: Who are your biggest influences?

IM: Zane, Carl Weber, Ann Clayton, James Patterson, and the screen writer, Shonda Rhimes.

EA: What is the concept of A Lethal Vendetta?

IM: I wanted to step out of my comfort zone and write an African American mystery and I wanted to write a book based off the bible scripture: "the sins of a father are visited upon the son"  (Numbers 14:18), except I wanted to make it about a mother..

EA: Is it a standalone, or will it be a series?

IM: This is a standalone, but I'm working on a series based off of two characters in this book so I guess it's like a spin-off to an upcoming series if that makes any sense.

EA: Would you say writing a novel is easy?

IM: It is not. It is hard work and takes time, patience, confidence and determination.

EA: What can readers expect next from Imani?

IM: Books written in other genres as well as urban fiction and mystery and suspense. They can expect more chilling reads with twisted plots and unexpected outcomes.

EA: What's your advice for aspiring authors?

IM: Don't let discouragement and negativity get to you. Giving up is not an option. Disappointments are inevitable, but keep pushing through and don't let anyone, not even yourself stand in your way.

EA: Finally, tell the readers why A Lethal Vendetta is a must buy.

IM: It is "a keep you on the edge of your seat", page-turning mystery read that's full of drama, mystery/suspense and a little bit of erotica. It will keep you reading way into the wee hours of the night and you're not going to be able to put it down.

Epilogue

When partaking in anything, it's imperative to be persistent. It won't always be smooth sailing, you will encounter internal and external opposition, but if it's what you truly desire to do, staying the course is crucial. I would like to thank Imani for speaking with me today. For more on Imani, and her novels, or to follow her on social media, you can do so by visiting the hyperlinks below.
